President Xi Jinping’s Crisis Management Model

Despite biased western propaganda and conspiracy theories by think-tanks, China is winning the battle of against the corona virus epidemic (COVID-19). President Xi Jinping’s crisis management is now paying dividends in terms of drastic reduction in newly infected patients in its epicenter Wuhan city and adjacent areas. Dragon and drones are now restlessly reaching out people to show their solidarity, determination, courage and above all political commitment to fight against all odds to win the war against coronavirus epidemic. Chinese President Xi Jinping says China should keep strong and it will win the battle against the new coronavirus, which has plagued many countries. All the international health organizations like WHO and many other have already appreciated the efforts of Chinese government against COVID-19.

Right from the beginning, the President Xi Jinping has been applying a holistic approach of crisis management to control and cure the corona virus epidemic. Through systematic crisis management President Xi is battling out China’s worst public health emergency since 1949. Construction of make shift hospitals, health care centers, Ample supply of medicines, availability of trained nursing, paramedical staff, and doctors, financial resources and ease and smooth supplies of artificial intelligence block chains have now become icons of mercy, human passion, service, innovation and delivery.

Most recently, as a true leader in times of crisis and national emergency President Xi personally visited Wuhan city and inspected the diversified but integrated control efforts. A gigantic public campaign by the Chinese government has been initiated to engage the public in the fight against coronavirus this has served to boost confidence and trust in China. Prime Minister Li Keqiang also visited Wuhan city and instructed stakeholders to take all possible measures to contain, control and cure the coronavirus.

The western mass media has not been disseminating a factual picture about the magnitude of Chinese response, its capacity building measures/ mechanism since its beginning. In sharp contrast to western reports, China, from top to bottom and from horizontal to vertical hierarchical setup has been fighting against odds to win against this deadly virus. China has showed highest capabilities of its “Public Health Model” at every level. Even its armed forces are doing its best to be part of President Xi’s ongoing public campaign “We will win”, “Love Wuhan”.

When President Xi visited Wuhan city he gave strict orders to pursue quarantine measures that sealed off Wuhan and central Hubei province, this appears to be paying off with new infections dropping dramatically in recent weeks. On its part, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has prepared and launched comprehensive media strategies to educate the people and enhance level of mutual trust between the government and the people.

It has various interrelated optics, policies, plans, programs and projects having humanistic values. It caters to strengthening human psychology through innovations, human sharing & caring with the promise to be with the general masses through thick & thin. “If we save Wuhan, we save Hubei; by saving Hubei we save the whole country”. According to China National Health Commission latest report (March 5, 2020), for several days the number of reported coronavirus cases has been in the decline in Hubei (all time low of 19 new cases and 17 deaths).

President Xi met various stakeholders in the Wuhan city and inspected ongoing efforts of prevention and control. He had various video-conferences with doctors in the newly constructed Huoshenshan hospital (completed in just 10 days) and interacted with many medical personnel, appreciating their tireless efforts against the epidemic. He visited many public places and even walked through various streets to show sign of solidarity with the locals encouraging encouraged people to get back to work. Mr Xi declared that the spread of the disease had been “basically curbed” in Hubei province and Wuhan. While holding meaningful meetings and interacting with lots of people, President Xi appreciated the efforts of the people, their sense of duty and high levels of responsibility of the service men and termed all of them as real unsung heroes. He also on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China expressed his sincere condolences and highest respect to those who had died. He said, the bottom line is we are not at the mercy of the virus. Whether it is pandemic or not, the rule of the game is the same: never give up.”

It is now expected that parts of Hubei will be opened up very soon with a resumption of transport links at least within the province, along with more shops opening their doors. Elsewhere in China, things are going to start moving much more quickly.

It seems that normalcy has now gradually returned in China. People have come out of fear and isolation because of drastic reduction in the newly infected patients of COVID-19. In Qinghai province, the first batch of 144 senior schools and secondary vocational schools reopened. Disneyland Shanghai has partially reopened. The main theme park is still closed but the shops and restaurants have reopened.

Many countries like US, UK, Germany termed China’s efforts to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) encouraging in several aspects. While the world tackles with the rapid spread of COVID-19, the tide seems to be turning in China, where the outbreak first began. On March 10, China reported only 40 new infections, the lowest in six week. Although it has been a gigantic effort to contain, control and cure the COVID-19, it is very heartening to see how quickly Chinese scientists were able to identify the sequence of the virus and publish it rapidly thereafter. The moves are valuable in terms of facilitating the development of tests to diagnose the virus disease as well as potential medication.

President Xi Jinping has been implementing his own unique model of crisis management since the virus was first discovered in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019. Under his supervision, China has been using a host of resolute measures to curb the spread of the virus. Scientists identified the novel coronavirus rather quickly and medical institutions across the country were provided with kits that help facilitate diagnosis.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed upon the need to unleash consumer demand that has been restrained as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. He called for integrated efforts to expand domestic consumption and said measures must be adopted to increase production and encourage the consumption of goods and services. He called for a boost in new and upgraded consumption models that have emerged from epidemic control and prevention.

Despite hue and cry of the Western propagandists China has introduced a new concept of Public Health Model which is based on numerous new Artificial Intelligence Technologies (AITs) against COVID-19. Beijing-based “Face” introduced a high-tech temperature screening tool that can work in crowded places and screen thousands of people. It is now deployed in some of Beijing’s subway stations and government offices. In Sichuan province, doctors are using a new “5G telecom network” to help remote hospitals as well as overburdened doctors in the Hubei province epicenter promptly assess CT scans to detect COVID-19 cases.

Other Chinese market leaders of AITs namely, AI players, Baidu and Sense Time, are helping police identify people who are not wearing masks in public places and offices. In northwestern Yinchuan, authorities have deployed drones armed with loudspeakers reminding residents to keep a distance from each other and to wear masks. Millions of students are receiving lessons every day through live-streaming apps.

Moreover, food delivery apps, enabled by a legion of delivery workers who are the unsung heroes of China’s COVID-19 crisis, are delivering essentials on a daily basis. Food delivery app Meituan and e-commerce giant JD have deployed autonomous vehicles for “contactless” deliveries to hospitals and high-risk areas.

It is hoped that the superior crisis management model of President Xi will be successful against coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19) very soon. The Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Pakistan being premier think-tank in the country and Euro-Asia has been doing a great job to mitigate western falsified propaganda through its diversified but integrated efforts in terms of regular publication of valuable articles, expert opinions, news items, FM Radio programs and seminars in the country. In this regard its subsidiary daily English Newspaper “National Herald Tribune” has been publishing a full page titled “CHINA GREAT NATION UNITED AGAINST CORONA EPIDEMIC” on daily basis since its outbreak. The member board of experts and ambassadors (emerging young writers) associated with this prestigious think tank are standing with the Chinese government and its people battling out COVID-19 through unshakeable determination and trust.
